Orlando Fave 5: Date Night Eats

Welcome to our new mini series “Orlando Fave 5” where we’ll be featuring some of our favorites in Orlando (and the greater Orlando area). To start off, here’s our top 5 “date night” spots, in no particular order:

Enzo’s on the Lake • 17/92 in Longwood

  • Family-owned Italian restaurant with a cozy atmosphere that’s perfect for a date night or to celebrate something special.
  • Our entree picks: Penne Vodka (creamy and full of flavor!), Beef Short Ribs Toscana (tender slow-cooked beef over fresh house made pasta)
  • Reservations recommended.

Santiago’s Bodega • Orlando & Altamonte Springs

  • Tapas style menu with a variety of hot and cold dishes. We’ve enjoyed this place as an anniversary date, but we’ve also gone with friends and family to enjoy both their dinner and their AH-MAZING brunch.
  • Our picks (which was quite difficult to narrow down): Dates (filled with goat cheese and wrapped in prosciutto – sweet, salty, and creamy goodness!!), Saganaki (flaming cheese served with pita… need I say more?), Beef Short Rib (tender, juicy and flavorful!)
  • Reservations aren’t always needed, but they sometimes get pretty busy on weekends and for their brunch buffet.

Orchid • Winter Park & Lake Mary

  • Quiet and intimate feel with delicious Thai dishes. The Lake Mary location is close to home for us, but the Winter Park location is perfect for nice evening stroll before or after dinner and really makes for a great evening.
  • Our picks: Spring Rolls (as lovers of spring rolls, we’re a bit picky; but these are hands-down some the best), Massaman Curry (scrumptiously sweet and creamy and served with a nice variety of veggies), Pad Thai (Christian’s go-to dish here!)
  • Reservations not needed, but recommended for the Winter Park location.

Antonio’s • S Orlando Ave in Maitland

  • Another Italian favorite for us, this privately-owned restaurant features a upstairs location, as well as a downstairs cafe within their Italian deli/market. (So far, we’ve only eaten at the upstairs location, but if you’re looking for a more casual experience, the cafe looked quite nice!)
  • With so many classic American Italian dishes, it’s difficult to share our picks! BUT, the Lobster Ravioli, Pappardelle Bolognese and the Chicken Parmesan never disappoint!
  • Reservations are welcome 🙂

Hillstone • Winter Park

  • Another great dinner spot with a variety of options, located right on Lake Killarney. Come early to enjoy a drink and watch the beautiful Florida sunset out on the dock!
  • Don’t pass up on the Spinach & Artichoke Dip starter! For entrees: The Knife & Fork Barbecue Pork Ribs are a winner every time (literally falls right off the bone!) If you’re looking for something lighter (but still filling) the Pan-Seared Ahi Tuna Salad is delish.
  • Reservations highly recommended!
